There's a new book out about a family and their dog. Yes, another book. But I am really excited about this one! It's about Oogy, a Dogo Argentino, that was left at the doorstep of an animal hospital as a puppy. His ear was ripped off and half of his face was covered in scars and wounds. He was most likely used as bait in dog fights. :( A lovely family adopted Oogy and he changed their world as much as they changed his. Here's a review of the book from the L.A. Times.
As a long time Dogo Argentino fan (and owner), I love the breed and hate when they are used in fights (they are bred to not be dog aggressive, but to work cooperatively in packs!). I was glad to find such a lovely book and Oogy is a real rock star. He really loves with all his heart, even after he was so badly treated by people. I highly recommend that you read Oogy's story! (P.S. "Oogy" is for odd-looking doggy!)
